JIM HAZEN, President
Jim holds a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law, Houston, TX. He practiced law and worked as a Director and a volunteer in numerous programs supporting disadvantaged children in the Houston area for approximately 20 years prior to co-founding St. Giles. He is an active and supporting member of the Unity Church of Christianity. Mr. Hazen is Immediate Past President of the Private Providers Association of Texas, a professional organization of companies similar in nature to St. Giles that advocates for people with disabilities in Texas. Also, he has been appointed by the Texas Commissioner of Mental Health and Mental Retardation to several work groups and task forces to examine the delivery of long-term care and other services to people with mental retardation and related conditions in Texas. MARSHA BROWN FORD, Vice President

Marsha joined St. Giles Living Centers October 1, 2002.  She has a Master Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Bachelor Degree in Special Education from Southwest Texas State University.  Prior to joining the company, Ms. Ford was employed at the Burke Center, the local Mental Health Mental Retardation Authority.  She served with the Burke Center for 21 years, 11 years as Director of Mental Retardation Services.  Ms. Ford has served on committees through the Texas Department of Mental Health Mental Retardation to evaluate and revise various service delivery systems in the state.  She is a member of American Association on Mental Retardation and Texas Association on Mental Retardation.

ALAN GARMS, Vice President

Alan is a Licensed Master Social with an Advanced Practitioner certification. He holds a Masters from University of Houston and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from University of Texas. Prior to joining St Giles, Alan was the Executive Director at The Center Serving Persons With Mental Retardation, a position he held for 7 years. Alan also served as the Residential Director at The Center for 5 years and was employed in various capacities at Richmond State School for more than 12 years. He is currently the President of the Texas Association on Mental Retardation, a member of the American Association on Mental Retardation, a member of the Association on Behavior Analysis, and a former member of the Board of The United Way of The Texas Gulf Coast, the Private Providers Association of Texas and the Disability Policy Consortium of Greater Houston.

KEM DECKARD, Program Director
Kem is directly responsible for the operation of all programs. Ms. Deckard holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. She majored in Rehabilitation and Special Education and is currently working toward a Master's Degree in Special Education.   Ms. Deckard has 15 years of experience working in the human services field. Ms. Deckard serves as Human Rights Committee Chairperson. Her volunteer experience includes participation with Texas Special Olympics and she is on the Surrogate Decision-Making Team in the East Texas area.

TRACY MUNK, Program Director, Houston
Tracy is responsible for the overall supervision of the ICF/MR, and HCS programs located in Baytown and Houston. Ms. Munk holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, majoring in Therapeutic Recreation. She joined St. Giles in 2004 with 30 years of experience working in the human services field (both private and state sector) in the state of Kansas and Texas. Prior to joining the company, she was Director of a small private company in Houston, provided quality assurance and consultation services to various private providers in the state of Texas, and served on various state and local committees for the Texas Private Provider Association.

PAULA JACKSON PEACOCK, Service Director, Beaumont
Paula is responsible for the overall management of the Beaumont Region of St. Giles Living Centers.  She and her husband (formerly of Lufkin, Texas) have three children, Emerie, Jalen and Courtney.  Ms. Peacock brings fourteen years of experience working in the human services field from coordinating and providing services to advocating on behalf of people with Mental Retardation.  Mrs. Peacock serves on the Spindletop Mental Retardation Planning Advisory Committee (MR-PAC) as a representative for the Private Providers in the Southeast Texas Region.

AL STRICKLAND

Al served as the CEO of St. Giles Living Centers, Inc. until he passed away on August 3, 2003.  He spent 26 years in public schools in all levels of administration and working with people with developmental disabilities.  Mr. Strickland received many awards during his years of service to public schools.  For many years Al has been an advocate for the developmentally challenged and was named "Outstanding Educator" by the Association of Retarded Citizens.  He will be deeply missed by all.
