History
St. Giles Living Centers, Inc. was founded in 1991 by Jim Hazen and Al Strickland in order to provide higher quality services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Though not affiliated with any particular religious organization, the Company was named for an Abbot from the Middle Ages who became Saint Giles, the patron Saint of the physically disabled. Legend tells us that Saint Giles was one of the most beloved Saints of the Middle Ages and in naming our Company for him we strive to uphold the essence of his creed. St. Giles Living Centers, Inc. began its services in Lufkin, Texas. Lufkin remains a vital center of all services and the primary corporate office is located there. The company then expanded services into Beaumont, Baytown and Houston. The Lufkin office is located at 3007 South Medford, Lufkin, Texas; the Beaumont Office is located at 7650 Park North, Beaumont, Texas; the Baytown Office is located at 2115 North Alexander Dr., Baytown, Texas and the Houston Office is located at 3270 Barnard, Houston, Texas. Under the auspices of the Texas Department of Aging and Disabilities, St. Giles Living Centers, Inc. provides services in the following programs: ICF/MR Intermediate Care Facilities for People with Mental Retardation HCS Home and Community Services TxHmL Texas Home Living St. Giles takes pride in its knowledgeable, well-trained direct care and administrative staff. The Company is and will remain at the forefront of providing services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and related conditions in Texas. All St. Giles staff are extensively trained in medical issues, behavior management and all other areas regarding caring for people with special needs.
